Terms of Service

1. License and Eligibility

Steplee grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable laws. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

2. The Service

Steplee is a walking app for couples and groups. It lets you track your daily steps, compete with your partner or group members, earn points, and stay motivated through shared challenges, widgets, and leaderboards.

3. Accounts and Use

Steplee creates an anonymous account for you using a unique identifier. You choose a first name and may add a profile photo. You are responsible for any activity under your account. You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to access it in unauthorized ways or interfering with other users.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

• Steplee offers optional paid subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchase.
• Subscription prices are shown on the purchase screen and in the App Store. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial (if offered) will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• You can restore previous purchases using the “Restore Purchases” option in the app or paywall.

5. Refunds

All purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple and are subject to Apple’s Media Services terms and refund policies.

6. Notifications

Steplee may send you notifications related to step competitions, group activity, and app updates. You can turn notifications off in your device settings.

7. User Content

You may provide a first name and a profile photo. You retain ownership of your content. You grant Steplee a limited license to process and display that content to provide the Service (for example, to show your name and avatar to your partner or group members).

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, design, and branding, belong to Steplee or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for unlawful or harmful purposes, reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, disrupt or overload the Service, or use automated means to access the Service without our permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that step data will always be available or accurate.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Steplee will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law rules.
